Once you’ve put down your luggage, the journey can begin.
Below the villa is Lac d’Annecy, and in its wake, an incredibly diverse range of aquatic and nautical activities. A morning swim or lakeside jog, paddle boarding or wake-boarding, a beach picnic or dinner cruise on board the Libellule, a jaunt in a pedalo or a sailing trip… There’s so much choice. As well as the choice of doing nothing at all, stretching out comfortably on a sun lounger. That’s what holidays are really all about.
Annecy is a stone’s throw away, with its old town and chateau museum, canals and squares, theatre and casino, shops and restaurants. But as well as its parade of shows, events and entertainment, including the animated film festival in spring, there’s also the Lake Festival in summer and the traditional ‘Descente des Alpages’ moving of the cattle in autumn, both of which are dates for your diary. And if you venture out a little further, there’s the countryside, with villages and trails to trek through: a combination of getting back to the region’s origins and a life-sized nature discovery.
